Indigenous Farmer, organic farmer, black farmer, black family farm

Our Story

Gen3 Farms consists of the third generation of the Gene and Eva Collier family. Three grandchildren—Brandon Walker, Kyea Fallon, and LaToya Knight—decided to revitalize the farmland once farmed by their grandparents. Their mission is to bring back black farming to Southeast Oklahoma, where their great-grandfather settled after moving from South Carolina. They aim to honor their ancestors and support the community through sustainable and indigenous farming practices.

  • Director of Operations

As the Director of Farm Operations, I oversee the daily management and workflow of Gen3 Farms. With a passion for sustainable agriculture and indigenous farming practices, I ensure that every process runs smoothly, from planting to harvest. This farm represents more than just work for me—it's a way to reconnect with our roots and honor the land as our ancestors did. It's important to me that we pass on these traditions to future generations while nurturing the earth.

  • Director of Finance & Compliance

As CFO and Compliance Officer, I handle the financial planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance for Gen3 Farms. My role ensures that the farm remains financially sustainable and that we adhere to all industry regulations. For me, this farm is a legacy of resilience and resourcefulness. It represents the power of working together as a family to create something lasting, not just for us but for the community. Being part of this journey is a way to give back and uplift others through responsible and ethical farming.

  • CEO/Director of Development

As CEO and Director of Development, I am responsible for the development and upkeep of our farm's physical structures and systems. From building greenhouses to ensuring sustainable water and irrigation systems, my role is to lead the farm's growth and development. To me, this farm is a symbol of our family's strength and connection to the land. It's important that we create a space where we can grow not only food but a community, passing down the wisdom of our ancestors while innovating for the future.

Our mission is to cultivate not just crops but also a profound sense of community and cultural preservation. We strive to empower our family and community by creating a legacy that reflects our values, promotes sustainable agriculture, and fosters a deep respect for the land and its history. By honoring our roots and reconnecting with ancestral wisdom, we aim to provide nourishment for both body and spirit, encouraging future generations to continue this vital work.

Our Principles and Purpose

  • At Gen3 Farms, we are driven by respect for the earth, a commitment to ethical farming, and a deep sense of responsibility to our community. Every decision we make is guided by our core values of sustainability, integrity, and family.

  • Our farming methods draw inspiration from indigenous practices that emphasize balance with nature. We use techniques like crop rotation, natural fertilizers, and water conservation to ensure the long-term health of the soil and ecosystem.

  • We believe in giving back to our community. Gen3 Farms partners with local schools and organizations to provide fresh produce and educational programs about sustainable agriculture and indigenous farming.
